How is the MBA structured?
The question refers to the MBA Management Excellence program
- The course follows the principles of project competence studies (PKS).
- The course is designed as a full-time continuing education course which can be studied in a 60 CP variant and a 90 CP variant (with a specialization area).
- The number of CP (credit points according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)) per course corresponds to the expected learning time required by the students. As a guideline, 1 CP is set for 30 hours of student work for an average student.
- The standard period of study is 12 months for the 60 CP variant and 18 months for the 90 CP variant.
- The degree program is divided into a foundation area consisting of six compulsory modules amounting to 30 CP and a compulsory elective area in which a choice of two out of four modules (10 CP) must be made. Students of the 90 CP variant also complete 30 CP in their chosen specialization area.
- Attendance is compulsory in the face-to-face courses. Regular attendance is deemed to have taken place if at least 75% of the attendance time scheduled for the course has been attended.
- Overall, the course follows a study concept that teaches theoretical, practical and personal skills by interweaving three different fields of study.
- The skills acquired in these fields of study lead to the academic degree of (MBA) Master of Business Administration in the final semester with the preparation of the Master's thesis worth 15 CP.
