The Project Coaching of a Transfer Project

Project Coaching is a structured support system designed to guide students through the entire Transfer Project journey—from the initial idea to the final Thesis.

It is a a personalized, academic mentoring process that accompanies students throughout the development and implementation of their transfer project. It is designed to bridge theory and practice by guiding students in applying academic knowledge to real-world organizational challenges.

Project Coaching is not just academic advising—it is a developmental partnership that empowers students to become reflective practitioners and strategic thinkers. It ensures that the learning journey is deeply personalized, contextually relevant, and academically rigorous.

To be assigned a Project Coach, you must first register your Transfer Project. This is done via the Transfer Project Registration Page, and a step-by-step explanation of the registration process is provided here.

It is recommended to register your Transfer Project within the first month of your studies.
This allows sufficient time to work through each phase of the Transfer Project without unnecessary pressure and increases the likelihood of completing your degree within the standard study period.

🔍 Key Aspects of Project Coaching

  1. Conducted by Academic Coaches
Project Coaches are academic staff or external instructors affiliated with the program. They provide subject-specific and methodological guidance tailored to your project topic.
  2. Focus on Practical Transfer
Project Coaching emphasizes the transfer of theory into practice. You are supported in developing solutions to real-world problems using scientific methods, ensuring your work is both academically sound and professionally relevant.
  3. Continuous Support Across All Phases
Project Coaching begins before the Project Study Work (PSW) is presented and continues through the Study Work (SW) and the Master Thesis (MT). This ensures consistent guidance and feedback throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  4. Preparation for Assessment
Project Coaching helps you prepare for key deliverables and assessments. Project Coaches provide feedback and support that contribute to the quality of the PSW, SW, and MT, which are all evaluated as part of the academic program.

By default, you are entitled to six (6) Project Coaching sessions, each lasting 30 minutes.
To make the most of these sessions, we recommend the following distribution across the phases of your Transfer Project:

Transfer Project Phase Recommended Sessions
Project Study Work 1-2 sessions
Study Work 2 sessions
Thesis 2-3 sessions

Ideally, at least one coaching session should take place before the presentation of the PSW in a Group Project Session (GPS). However, the exact distribution of sessions is flexible and can be adjusted based on the needs and preferences of you and your Project Coach.

If you have used all six of your standard Project Coaching sessions but require additional support, you may apply for extra sessions via the Transfer Project Registration Page. Once your request is approved, you can arrange the additional sessions directly with your Project Coach. These sessions are subject to availability and are charged at a rate of 100 euros per hour.

Project Coaching is designed to support your academic development—not to replace your own work.
