What regulations apply to the final thesis in the MBA Management Excellence?
The question refers to the MBA Management Excellence program.
- The final thesis consists of a written Master's thesis and an oral defense. The course of the thesis is based on the project study work and also includes literature research and topic coordination. The Master's thesis involves concrete implementation, the development of recommendations for action and, ideally, a further outlook on future projects as well as the adaptation and, if necessary, further development of current methods.
- The Master's thesis should comprise approx. 60 pages with a completion time of 4 months and is assessed by at least two examiners from the university. The project supervisor can be consulted in an advisory capacity.
- If all performance records have been completed with a grade of at least "sufficient" and if the two written reports on the thesis result in a grade of at least "sufficient", the thesis can be defended in a presentation as the final performance record.
- The defense is an oral examination in front of the examination board with the involvement of at least one full-time lecturer from the university.
- The defense lasts approx. 45-60 minutes. The weighting factor of the thesis is 75% for the written part and 25% for the oral part of the performance.
- Upon successful completion of the program, Steinbeis University awards the academic degree of "Master of Business Administration (MBA)".
- The Master's degree program is passed when the following CP have been earned:
a) 30 CP from the basic modules
b) 10 CP from the compulsory elective modules in the basic area
c) 30 CP from the specialization (for the 90 CP variant)
d) 20 CP from the project module (project thesis and Master's thesis incl. final examination)
- In accordance with § 22 RSPO, students receive a certificate, transcript and diploma supplement for the academic degree and, if applicable, further documents that provide a detailed overview of all academic achievements.
