Transfer Project

The Transfer Project enables students to apply their acquired knowledge to develop practical solutions for problems or improvements in their companies or industries.

Studying at S-Next is designed for students to continuously and systematically apply the knowledge they have acquired from seminars and INSIDERS to their companies and industries to ensure the highest possible practical transfer.

The aim of the Transfer Project is to use a multi-stage process to identify concrete problems or challenges in one's own real corporate world and to develop solutions for them using scientific methods. This allows students to acquire a variety of skills,

The first formal step to start a Transfer Project is to register it through the Transfer Project Registration Page.

such as analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and self-organization, which offer added value for one's career.

The image below illustrates what the Transfer Project looks like in the worlds of business and science. Students are encouraged to base their project on a real-life problem or challenge they see in the business world (i.e., their company or industry) and work on a solution using scientific methods.

Transfer Project at a glance

The Transfer Project thus forms the core of the studies at S-Next and is concluded with the successful defense of the Thesis. It usually consists of three papers:

Throughout the work, students document that they are able to apply and implement the content of their studies within the business world (i.e, companies, industries, etc.) through their Transfer Project. The above-mentioned independent steps document the course of the Transfer Project at S-Next. The project is progressive: each paper pushes students' ideas further. However, each one must be an original, independent paper rather than adding to or copying from earlier submissions.

Applied research is created by combining specific problems from the business world with the scientific world. Therefore, the individual project papers are based on the basic principles of scientific work, so that an objective and systematic approach using recognized research methods is required. Furthermore, all sources of information used must be listed both in the text and in the list of sources in order to avoid plagiarism. In the "Guideline Scientific Work", students will find detailed information on how to prepare an academic paper properly.

In order to meet the scientific requirements, we recommend that all students – unless there is an obligation to do so anyway – participate in the seminars offered for scientific work or use the associated INSIDER module(s).
