Registration and reservation of Thesis defense dates

  • When registering the thesis via the online campus (My studies/Registrations & Applications), a desired date for the defense can be specified. The current defense dates can be found in the online campus (My studies/defense dates).
  • Up to 6 weeks before the defense (admission deadline) all certificates of achievement (incl. thesis) must be received by the Examination Office.
  • After registration, students will receive a confirmation of the defense date. If all places for the respective desired date are already occupied, they will be entered in a waiting list. Students on the waiting list will receive approx. 4 to 5 weeks before the defense date feedback as to whether they could be scheduled for the corresponding desired date, or for which date they were registered instead.
  • If a defense is not possible within the enrollment period, students can attend a defense appointment up to 4 weeks after the end of enrollment. In this case, there are no additional costs and a new enrollment is not required.
  • 4 to 6 weeks before the defense, a query is made whether the registered students will attend their defense date. 2 weeks before the defense, the admitted students receive the invitation with all information about the upcoming defense.
  • The thesis report will not be sent to the student in advance, but will be sent after the defense.
