Is it possible to withdraw from the examination?

Yes, the examination board (PAS) must be notified immediately in writing of an important reason for withdrawal. In case of illness of the student or a close relative to be cared for by him/her alone according to § 9 sentence (3), a medical certificate must be submitted to the PAS. The PAS decides on the recognition of the reasons. If important reasons are recognized, the performance record shall be deemed not to have been undertaken.
If the student has taken a performance test with knowledge of a health impairment or other reason for withdrawal, a subsequent withdrawal due to this reason cannot be recognized.
If a student was prevented from completing a thesis in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program on time due to a valid reason, the examination committee may, upon request, extend the completion deadline by the period of proven inability to complete the examination. The examination performance shall be deemed not to have been undertaken in the event that the examination committee demands that it be performed again.
