What regulations apply to the final thesis in the B.A. Business Administration?
The question refers to the B.A. Business Administration program.
- The final thesis consists of a written Bachelor's thesis and an oral defense. The course of the thesis is based on the student research project and also includes literature research and topic coordination. As part of the Bachelor's thesis, the concrete implementation, the development of recommendations for action and, ideally, a further outlook on future projects as well as the adaptation and, if necessary, the further development of current methods are carried out.
- The Bachelor's thesis should comprise approx. 60 pages (+/- 10 %) with a completion time of approx. 4 months and is assessed by at least two examiners from the university.
- The thesis can only be submitted once all performance records (with the exception of the thesis and the defense) have been completed with a grade of at least "sufficient". If the two written assessments of the thesis also result in a grade of at least "sufficient", the thesis can be defended in a presentation as the final proof of achievement.
- The defense is an oral examination in front of the examination board with the involvement of at least one full-time lecturer from the university. The defense lasts approx. 45-60 minutes. The weighting factor of the thesis is 75% for the written part and 25% for the oral part of the performance.
- Upon successful completion of the course, Steinbeis University awards the academic degree of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).
- The Bachelor's degree program comprises 180 CP in accordance with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
- The Bachelor's degree program is passed when the following CP have been earned:
a) 80 CP from the foundation modules
b) 80 CP from the compulsory elective modules
