# Is it possible to receive compensation for exams if I have disabilities?
## Die Frage bezieht sich auf die Rahmenstudien- und Prüfungsordnung der Steinbeis Hochschule.
If a student can provide a credible medical certificate showing that they are unable to complete a performance, either fully or partially, in the intended way or within the planned timeframe due to disabilities as defined in § 2 Para. 1 SGB IX or long-term health issues, the chairperson of the examination board must give permission for the student to complete equivalent tasks in a different format, at a different exam time, or with additional processing time.
Students have the opportunity to make use of the protection periods outlined in § 3 (2) and § 6 (1) of the Maternity Protection Act.
Students who need to take time off to care for their children, who are eligible for parental leave under the law, or to care for close relatives in need of assistance under the Nursing Leave Act, can submit a written application to the Examination Committee. The committee will consider these requests and approve a reasonable amount of time off.
